A cheap wedding ring does not have to necessarily look cheap. When you consider the costs of getting married today, sometimes the budget does not fit the designer wedding ring cost that you so badly desire. Wedding rings are generally bands that represent the love a couple has for one another. These bands are placed on the fourth finger of the hand because long ago it was believed that there is an artery that runs from that finger, directly to the heart. This has however proved to not be scientifically, but it remains the choice of finger even today. It does have a lovely meaning to it. When looking at purchasing wedding rings, you will find sets that include the engagement ring, and the wedding band that compliments the engagement ring. The wedding ring itself needn't have any stones, gem or semi-precious on it. If you do find a ring that has an expensive gem in it, you can always ask to replace it with a cheaper semi-precious stone. It is a personal choice, but the wedding ring itself can be a simple thin band. The type of metal the ring is made of also determines the price of it. Silver would be the cheapest, with yellow and white gold at similar prices to each other. Platinum and titanium are the most expensive. The problem with titanium rings is that once the ring has been made, it cannot be re-sized. If the engagement ring is made from silver, the wedding band could also be made from silver. I would suggest trying not to have wedding and engagement rings made from silver because they may not last as long. White gold needs maintenance much more than yellow gold. Every 12 or 18 months the white gold ring will need to be rhodium treated to enhance the shininess of the ring. Due to everyday activities, white gold rings tend to lose their shininess and this is the reasoning for rhodium treatment. Considering this though, it is not expensive to treat the ring. The more intricate the design of the wedding ring, the more expensive it will cost. If you've seen the wedding band design that you want, but because it is a designer ring, you can't afford it, go speak to a jeweler and find out how much they'll charge to manufacture the ring. Another option would be to look at secondhand shops, or maybe their is a family heirloom you don't know about. If you have the metal already, you can redesign the ring to suit you, without the cost implication. The best thing to do these days is to browse online to compare different rings that you like. You may find that there are certain specials on where you get discounted rings. It takes the pain out of having to go from jewelry store to jewelry store, where you may find the salespeople to be pushy. Don't rush into buying anything, take the time to find the right price and the right ring. |
